Making of the Stars and Moon Ring

Wedding bells are ringing, and were ready to debut our own wedding ring. Were proud to introduce the first piece in our WED engagement series. It features two Canadian-mined and conflict-free half moon champagne diamonds with a row of graduated pave-set diamonds through the middle all framed in a 14-karat recycled gold band. Since every engagement has a good story, here's the one behind this particular ring.

It was love at first sight when I found the perfect diamonds for my vision at the Tucson Gem Show. Inspired by their shape and character, I created the setting around them.

After we agreed on a shared vision, Hayden carved the ring out of wax. This is the how a ring starts.

Once the shape is set, it's sent to the caster where the 14-karat recycled gold was poured to make a band. We will call that the third date.

The half moon diamonds are beveled, and that means the center diamonds must be graduated in size. Here, we are getting ready to set the center stones and that's what produces an elegant arc. After the stones are all set, the ring is ready to rock! Now it just needs a forever home.
