Snowy Mountain Ring

Snowy Mountain Ring

It's no secret...we're thrilled that Spring is finally here!

The birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and love is definitely in the air as engagements abound and wedding season is just getting started. On that note, we wanted to share a bit about one of our favorite recent creations, the Snowy Mountain Ring. We loved working with these custom clients to design and craft a meaningful engagement ring inspired by the mountains that stand proudly around their home in Colorado.

Although our clients were initially looking for something a bit more traditional, they instantly fell in love with this milky white, rose-cut diamond that soon became the feature of their solitaire ring. At 3.78 carats, and conflict-free, this stone is a serious stunner!

To compliment the milky white diamond, our clients opted for an elegant 14k yellow gold band that highlights the stone using clean lines and a high dome.

Altogether, we love the marriage between the complexity of the diamond and the elegance of the band...she said yes, by the way!

Peace is a Lifestyle

Lead with Love is an annual leadership summit held in Aspen aimed at social impact. I was grateful to attend in the fall. The four-day event was full of inspiring people who are all doing good in the world in their own way, but I was most struck by the impact of Urban Yogis. This Queens, New York-based organization brings yoga and meditation principles to its community, including at-risk youth. The group’s five founders were steered away from violence partially because of yoga and meditation, and thus aim to spread the message to others because they know it works. They were each affected by gun violence and want to make sure youth in their communities have alternative options.

Part of Lead with Love also focused on conscious capitalism. This recognizes that capitalism is essential to humanity because it creates value and is a system for social cooperation. But, it also means that we make decisions about good and bad business every time we buy things. Inspired but Lead with Love and this idea, Colby June is donating 5 percent of its December sales to Urban Yogis. We support this group as it actively works to combat violence and promote compassion in a time when valuing diversity and unifying people is crucial to our existence. Thank you for making the choice to support good business.

Making of the Stars and Moon Ring

Wedding bells are ringing, and were ready to debut our own wedding ring. Were proud to introduce the first piece in our WED engagement series. It features two Canadian-mined and conflict-free half moon champagne diamonds with a row of graduated pave-set diamonds through the middle all framed in a 14-karat recycled gold band. Since every engagement has a good story, here's the one behind this particular ring.

It was love at first sight when I found the perfect diamonds for my vision at the Tucson Gem Show. Inspired by their shape and character, I created the setting around them.

After we agreed on a shared vision, Hayden carved the ring out of wax. This is the how a ring starts.

Once the shape is set, it's sent to the caster where the 14-karat recycled gold was poured to make a band. We will call that the third date.

The half moon diamonds are beveled, and that means the center diamonds must be graduated in size. Here, we are getting ready to set the center stones and that's what produces an elegant arc. After the stones are all set, the ring is ready to rock! Now it just needs a forever home.

Shell Collection

Inspired primarily by a single conch, the Shell Collection combines the strength and protective nature of a shell with the playful side of the beach. Where the ocean meets the sand, imagination and inspiration dance between textures, forms and shapes.

Our newest line embraces this place of opportunity with signature rings, earrings and necklaces that are light in presentation but heavy in spirit. Some are adorned with meaningful gems and stones, each of which offer healing powers for the wearer. From protectiveness to vulnerability, the Shell Collection proves that it's on the inside and outside that counts.

Misty Mountain Ring

Marriage is all about living in harmony, and our newest engagement ring in the WED series is a physical representation of this. A luminous 1.6-carat diamond is set in the middle of the ring, flanked by two bezel-set triangle diamonds which frame the stone. Named Misty Mountain, the ring speaks to the foundation that a solid relationship requires, and its crisp angular lines offer a sense of playfulness with classic design. Plus, the ring feels good. The milky diamond has an ethereal, weightless aura—and it should. The conflict-free cushion diamond is set in recycled material and solid 14k gold. The design mimics the mountains where it was handcrafted by Colby June and HM Jewelry.
